Hi, all! I’m Cathy Oloffson, the director of Communications and Community Relations for the Town of Normal (pop. 52,500) in Normal, Illinois. We are located in the middle of the state about two ½ hours north of St. Louis and two hours-ish south of Chicago. The Comms team at Normal considers Zencity part of our team and we appreciate the regular touchpoints. The value add for our group is learning from experiences of other municipalities. I’m excited to be a part of this group!

Hey everyone!

I’m Ido, the CTO and co-founder of Zencity. I lead a small but capable team exploring new products and services that can be implemented to benefit our local government partners, and love speaking to Zencity users and learning what they need and trying to figure out if we can improve their experience or solve new problems for them. I live in the vibrant city of Tel Aviv, but like speaking to users so you’ll probably find me wide awake very late into the night

I’m hoping that through Zencity Hall I’d be able to learn what products, services or data are relevant to provide across our client base, but also share some of my personal experience in working with cities and counties.

Hi!

My name is Douglas Shontz and currently serve as Assistant to the Manager/Director of Communications for State College, PA. I live outside of the municipality in beautiful rural central PA. State College is home to Penn State University’s main campus, University Park. About ¾ of the residents for State College are Penn State students and this means that we’re always welcoming new residents to our community! We started using Zencity in 2019. I’m really excited to connect and talk with other peers in the profession and learn all the creative ways they leverage Zencity to improve their organization and community. I’d love to share all the funny local government stories I have acquired throughout my career. I’m sure there are others that have quite the catalog of stories.

Hi everyone,

I’m Elizabeth Loeffelman and I’m a public information specialist at Leon County Government. We are Florida’s capital county in the northern part of the state and our population is about 292,000. I think the passion of our community members is what makes our community so special. They are very involved in local government and care about the people around them.

I have worked with Zencity for about three months now, so I’m still very new. I’m interested in learning more specifically about how other organizations have used Zencity to address a community need.

Hi Folks,

I’m Sheridan, and I serve as the Digital Marketing Coordinator at the City of Beaverton, in Oregon. I’m both new to this role and to Zencity, and I’m excited to participate in the beginnings of Zencity Hall.

I’m hoping that this will be a space where I can learn from my peers -- what works and doesn’t work for folks when it comes to understanding a community’s needs and interests.

Having previous experience with social media analytics tools, as well as Google Analytics, I’m really excited for the discussions to come!

Hi all! I’m Eyal Halamish, the VP of Consulting at Zencity. I lead the consulting practice at Zencity.

My team supports our clients with advisory services such as

  • Communications assessments and engagement plans,
  • How to respond in crisis and risky situations,
  • How to develop content which is sticky, and
  • How to gather and make decisions based on data.

I love speaking with cities and counties about the complex problems they are facing to see if I can help!

I live in New York City where I’m can regularly be found eating pizza 🍕and running the streets 🏃🏻 to burn off those calories :)

I’m hoping that through Zencity Hall I can learn about and share stories about best practices across cities and counties.
